A brief historical search for thiazolidinedione with hypoglycemic activity. Classification was based on the nature of linker connecting benzyl/benzylidene TZD with lipophilic head. Oxymethy, oxyethyl, oxyethylamino linkers and their rigid analogues were summarized. PPAR modulatory activity are reported as it appeared in the literature.
