There is a great morphological variety in R. communis phenotypes and the soil they grow in throughout Australia. Fifteen isotopes measured by LA-ICP-MS yielded data relevant to collection sites of R. communis seeds. Multivariate statistical analysis facilitated the identification of unique provenance isotopes. This technique could be used to provenance a seed of unknown origin to a broad suburban area within a city.
