The foraminifera from NDOB-1, a borehole in the Nile Delta were examined. The material recovered provides unique well-preserved microfossil biotas from Neogene. This established an intact biozonation scheme with reliable chronostratigraphic correlation. Examination of the planktonic foraminifera resulted in identification of 12 biozones. The recovered benthic foraminifera allowed the identification of five biozones.
