Development of ultrafast UTE imaging for granular systems

Ultrafast UTE imaging is demonstrated on granular material with T2 = 185 μs.

Compressed sensing and Hermitian symmetry are used to reduce acquisition time.

Images are acquired in 25 ms with a spatial resolution of 1 mm × 1 mm × 2 mm.

Volume of voxels is ∼15 times smaller than previous images acquired in the same time.
