Development altered the vegetation and habitat area cover and distribution.

Drivers of species distribution were soil moisture content and elevation.

Relative sea-level has been rising by 1.82 ± 0.49 mm·year− 1 over the past 36 years.

The mean wetland surface elevation trend was 2.98 ± 2.34 mm·year− 1.

Overall the salt marsh surface elevation is keeping pace with historic relative sea-level rise.
