Overwinter loss in total wet mass of mature lesser sandeel was positively related to temperature. The lower mass loss in the cold temperature treatment was related to a higher gonad investment. Somatic energy loss did not differ between high and low temperature treatments. Warming appears to affect reproductive investment rather than overwinter condition in mature lesser sandeels.
