Patterns of recurrence after hepatectomy for colorectal liver metastases had important implications for overall survival. Short disease-free interval was the prognostic factors for recurrence of colorectal liver metastases. Short disease-free interval was strongly correlated with high Carcinoembryonic antigen at the hepatectomy.
