Late Cretaceous to early Eocene magmatic evolution of the Laramide arc in the Nacozari quadrangle, northeastern Sonora, Mexico and its regional implications

Stratigraphy, geochronology and geochemistry of the Laramide magmatic arc in Sonora, Mexico. Age of the volcanism in the Nacozari quadrangle is constrained from 76.78 ± 0.42 to 57.15 ± 0.35 Ma. Granitic plutons and rhyolitic domes that intrude the volcanic rocks yield ages from 59.26 ± 0.79 to 53.30 ± 1.60 Ma. Nd, Sr and Pb isotope compositions of the Laramide rocks of the study area allow to compare them with the Mazatzal province. Isotope composition of the Laramide rocks help to constrain the tectonic boundary between the Mazatzal and Caborca blocks.
