Patients with Metabolic Syndrome are at double the risk of heart disease compared to those without. There is much evidence that cardiac rehabilitation helps to treat risk factors for heart disease. Metabolic Syndrome patients complete fewer cardiac rehabilitation sessions than those without. High Triglycerides were found to be associated with fewer cardiac rehabilitation sessions. Patients at highest risk of cardiac events are least likely to adhere to cardiac rehabilitation.
