Acetylcytosine-functionalized micelle has been developed and used to encapsulate fluorescent rhodamine 6G (R6G). The R6G-loaded micelles can strongly manipulate the fluorescence properties and dye releasing ability of R6G. This newly-developed material possessed a very high fluorescence quantum yield (0.75) in aqueous solution.
