New constraints on the timing of flexural deformation along the northern Australian margin: Implications for arc-continent collision and the development of the Timor Trough
Flexural-extension deforms passive margin sequence in north Australia. Biostratigraphy and Sr isotope age data exhibit onset of deformation at ca. 6 Ma. Slip profiles and growth across faults reveal multiple phases of fault activity. 6 Ma event marks the start of arc-continent collision in the Timor Sea region.
