Introduction: Ischemia is common in paraplegia induced by compression injury of spinal cord and from acute thoraco-abdominal aortic aneurysms. This study evaluates alterations in the vascular endothelial permeability across the blood-spinal cord barrier (BSCB) and expression of intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) following ischemia induced paraplegia.
