Preparation, characterization, and in vitro anti-inflammatory evaluation of novel water soluble kamebakaurin/hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex

The kaurane diterpene has poor water solubility and this limits its utilization. Aim of the KA/HP-β-CD complex was solubility enhancement by freeze drying method. Phase solubility study showed linear relationship (AL type) with 1:1 stoichiometry. FTIR, SEM, PXRD and 1H NMR confirmed the interaction between KA and HP-β-CD. In vitro anti-inflammatory activity of KA/HP-β-CD complex was investigated.
