Technical efficiency measures the ability of the farm to get maximum output from a given set of inputs. This study helps in optimization of critical inputs in P.vannamei shrimp farming to enhance the efficiency of production systems. Shrimp farms in India could able to convert the inputs in to output to the tune of 90% efficiency. Optimization of critical inputs and adoption of better management practices ensure higher efficiencies. Capacity development and institutional support to the shrimp farmers facilitate sustainability of shrimp farming in India.
