Effect of MeJ application to vineyard on grape amino acid composition was studied for the first time.

The grapevine foliar treatment with methyl jasmonate enhanced phenylalanine content in grapes.

This result may explain the phenolic composition improvement with the application of this elicitor.

Moreover, this application increased His, Ser, Trp, Tyr, Asn, Met, and Lys concentrations.

In conclusion, MeJ foliar treatment improved must nitrogen composition.
