A liquid crystals modulated optical tunable filter based on Fano resonance of Au nanorod trimer

A novel liquid crystal modulated optical tunable filter is proposed. Au nanorod trimer array shows Fano resonance. The same size of nanorods enables an optical switch controlled by liquid crystals. Thickness of Au trimer is studied for larger switch depth and smaller insertion loss. The geometry parameters and possible experimental structural defects are simulated.
