We use sewage sludge and river sediment to produce lightweight aggregate (LWA). The effects of mass ratio (K) of basic and acidic oxides on the characteristics of LWA were studied. LWA with high quality can be obtained in the condition of 0.15 ≤ K ≤ 0.3. Leaching contents of Cr, Cd, Cu, and Pb were influenced by the variation in K.
