Evolution of dislocation density during compression of a Mg-Zn-Y alloy with long period stacking ordered structure

Mg alloy with an LPSO phase was compressed in extrusion and transverse directions. The dislocation density in the Mg matrix was higher after transverse compression. The microstructure in LPSO phase was finer after compression in extrusion direction. Basal dislocation slip was more active in LPSO grains during transverse compression.
