We studied CSF lipid-specific IgM antibodies (LS-OCMB) in MS patients.
We also studied with OCT the peripapillary retinal fiber layer (RNFL) in them.
We found RNFL thinning, reflecting retinal axonal loss, in MS vs controls (p < 0.01).
MS patients with LS-OCMB had further reduction of RNFL vs LS-OCMB negative patients.
This reinforces the previously found association of LS-OCMB with axonal loss in MS.
