ES process combines direct extrusion and two steps ECAE process to fabricate AZ31. Fine and uniform microstructures can be obtained by ES process. Basal texture (0002) has been weakened considerably owing to shear of ES process. ES process could improve mechanical properties of magnesium alloy obviously. ES-fabricated AZ31 magnesium alloy has strong tension-compression asymmetry.
