Starches from different vegetal origin were used to prepare thermoplastic starches. The influence of amylose/amylopectin ratio on the TPS properties was estudied. Higher contents of amylose gives more rigid matrixes and high water absorption. Biocomposites of TPS were reinforced with cellulose nanoparticles (CNC). Addition of CNC enhanced the mechanical properties and water resistance of TPS.
