Angry rumination (AR) is proposed to deplete self-control (SC) resources.
We investigated the impact of AR on anger and SC.
SC was measured using an inhibitory control behavioral measure (Affective Go/NoGo task).
AR resulted in heightened anger, whereas distraction mitigated anger.
AR did not seem to result in diminished inhibitory control.
