Detection of S. aureus, methicillin-resistant S. aureus and K. pneumoniae. The method was able to detect as low concentrations of bacteria as 102 CFU/mL. Detection was enabled using the bacteria-specific genes (fnbA, mecA and wcaG). The proposed method is employing quantum dots and magnetic particles.
