Assessments across the ICF domains help search for common themes and define core issues relating to refinement of phenotypes. These approaches help DBS selection and allow interpretation of outcomes, further refining the selection iteration process. Goal-focused practices confer an understanding of meaningful outcomes, in turn resulting in contented children and families. The dynamic needs of the child and families constitute the need to incorporate ‘resilient’ assessments and perspectives.
