Synthesis of Cu-doped Li2O and its cathode properties for lithium-ion batteries based on oxide/peroxide redox reactions

A new cathode material Cu-doped Li2O is synthesized mechanochemically. The Cu-doped Li2O is structurally analyzed by XRD and XAS. The Cu-doped Li2O exhibits a reversible capacity of 300 mAh g−1. The O2−/O22− redox reactions proceed reversibly during charge–discharge.
