Metallurgical bonding formed at the interface of the vacuum re-melted coating and substrate by the inter-Metallurgical bonding formed in vacuum re-melted coating by the inter-diffusion of alloying elements.

Vacuum re-melting greatly improved the bonding strength and erosion resistance of the as-sprayed coating.

Vacuum re-melting broadened the range of the impact angles which the as-sprayed coating can bear.
