Higher-order meshing of implicit geometries—Part I: Integration and interpolation in cut elements

Higher-order accurate quadrature rules are proposed for elements cut by zero-level sets. A meshing of zero-level sets by higher-order interface elements is proposed (reconstruction). A meshing of the cut background elements with higher-order sub-elements is proposed (decomposition). The resulting meshes are used for integration and interpolation in 2D and 3D. Corners and edges in the implicit geometries are considered consistently.
