Prognostic significance of lymphadenectomy and prevalence of lymph node metastasis in clinically-apparent stage I endometrioid and mucinous ovarian carcinoma
Rate of lymph node metastasis for stage I ovarian mucinous carcinoma is 1.7%. Rate of lymph node metastasis for stage I ovarian endometrioid carcinoma is 2.1%. Lymphadenectomy is associated with a survival benefit for women with endometrioid carcinoma. Lymphadenectomy could be omitted when staging stage I ovarian mucinous carcinoma.
