Academic nursing administrators are crucial for the future nursing workforce, and vacancies are on the rise. Recognizing factors associated with job satisfaction and intent to stay is important for programs of nursing in university settings. Workplace factors were found to have a significant relationship to job satisfaction and intent to stay in a sample of nursing administrators. Modifiable factors should be considered for change of policies in higher education to recruit and retain academic nursing administrators.
