We provided expression profiles of inflammation-associated microRNAs (miRNAs) in apical periodontitis lesions and human periodontal ligament fibroblasts (HPDLFs) inflammation.
We showed miR-155 induced proinflammatory phenotype in HPDLFs by a novel target gene SEMA3A.
As a direct target of miR-155, SEMA3A could influence miR-155 in HPDLFs as well.
Both miR-155 and SEMA3A had an impact on the other miRNAs (miR-29b, 106b, 125b, 143, and 198).
