MicroRNA-136 inhibits cancer stem cell activity and enhances the anti-tumor effect of paclitaxel against chemoresistant ovarian cancer cells by targeting Notch3
miR-136 functions as a tumor suppressor and directly targets Notch3 oncogene. Low miR-136 expression correlated with poor overall survival in ovarian cancer patients. Transfection of miR-136-mimic reduced cell growth and migration, and increased apoptosis of ovarian cancer cells.
