Digital PCR is a powerful technique to quantify miRNAs in sera of DMD/BMD patients. MiR-30c and miR-181a are valuable serum biomarkers for diagnosis of DMD and BMD. Steroid treatment has no effect on miR-30c and miR-181a levels in DMD patients. MiR-30c may serve to monitor motor function in DMD.
