Non-edible mahua oil is utilized for biodiesel production. RSM was used to optimize the transesterification process variables. Catalyst, methanol and temperature had significant effect on mahua biodiesel yield. Biodiesel production follows first-order kinetics. Mahua biodiesel satisfied the ASTM standards.
