A new class of low-pressure NF membranes is modeled using the DSPM-DE model.

The model is validated with uncharged solute, salt mixture, and seawater experiments.

Low-pressure NF is primarily a result of the high membrane selectivity for monovalent ions.

Selectivity is dominated by the pore dielectric constant, followed by the pore size.

The sequence of multivalent ion rejection is a function of size and charge effects.
