Gallic acid and natural polyphenols were grafted onto bioactive glasses. Grafting ability was dependent on glass reactivity. In situ reduction of silver nanoparticles was performed onto functionalized glasses. Bioactive glasses decorated with silver nanoparticles showed antibacterial activity.
