Arrhenius parameters in Si and O diffusion in stishovite were determined. Si diffusion is about one order of magnitude slower than O in stishovite. Si diffusion in stishovite is much slower than this in other minerals. Stishovite is by far the hardest among the dominant mantle minerals. Stishovite may preserve the SiO2-rich seismic reflectors in mid-mantle.
