SHG spectroscopy was used to study cationic transport across a lipid bilayer. In the presence of amphiphilic drugs the transport depends upon the medium pH. Chlorin-p6 and Curcumin alter the transport kinetics in opposite ways. This is attributed to the modulation of the drug-lipid interaction by medium pH.
