STN HFS and LFS reduce mechanical allodynia and thermal hyperalgesia in the PD rats. Duloxetine reduces thermal hyperalgesia in PD rats. Combined HFS/duloxetine therapy is much more effective than HFS or medication alone. A possible additive and synergistic mechanism is proposed.
