The operating limit increases with the hydraulic diameter. The square-channel MPHP can handle higher heat flux than the circular-channel MPHP. The operating limit occurs when the film flow rate is smaller than the evaporation rate. A correlation for predicting the maximum allowable heat flux was developed.
