Gd doped ZnS nanoparticles synthesized using co-precipitation technique. PL studies depict sulphur and zinc vacancies in Gd doped ZnS nanoparticles. XANES studies depict the charge transfer between host Zn and dopant Gd ions. Room temperature weak ferromagnetism is observed in Gd doped ZnS nanoparticles.
