Oxalic acid leaching is proposed to selectively recover vanadium from stone coal. 71.5% of the vanadium can be recovered with only 3.4% of the iron impurity leached by oxalic acid. Oxalic acid leaching is compared with traditional sulfuric acid leaching. The dissolution trend of pyrite for oxalic acid leaching is smaller than that for sulfuric acid leaching.
