Early parity number born alive classification effectively predicts later parity performance. Sows classified as high in both parity one and in parity two had larger litters in later parities. Sows classified as high in parity one and two had greater lifetime born alive than all other sows. Litter size in parities one and two had low predictive value for the parity of removal.
