Specially designed continuous and discontinuous feed charge size distributions used. Specific breakage rate varied linearly with the relative amounts of other size fractions. Coarser sizes and immediately finer sizes had a negative effect. The positive effect of other finer sizes increased as the particle size decreased. The overall effect was found to vary with the material type and particle size.
