Lighting cones are straightforward devices meant to reduce ignition time in stoves. Lighting time was reduced by over 50% using a lighting cone on a charcoal stove. Charcoal consumption during ignition was reduced by over 40%. Carbon monoxide emissions during ignition were reduced by over 50%. Ultrafine particles were also reduced, indicating potential human health benefits.
