Free amino acids of flagelliform silk glue bacterial cellulose better than the silk itself.

Due to the increased mobility of free amino acid monomers improving h-bonding.

Tested experimentally we find certain free amino acids improve wet and dry mechanical properties over pure bacterial cellulose.

Amino acids are readily available and easily to obtain than pure silks.

Their utility has considerable potential in improving cellulose sheet properties.
