We present the selection process and the resulting list of Key Sustainability Performance Indicators to best assess the carbon fiber recycling sector.

We describe the usefulness and interrelationship of the related methods life cycle assessment, criticality assessment, material flow analysis to provide a broader scope for the sustainability assessment of the carbon fiber recycling sector.

We highlight the need for further research on better integrating resource criticality and socio-economic aspects with adequate indicators for the for the sustainability assessment of the sector.
