In this study, effect of barium chromium oxides coated Ba0.5Sr0.5Co0.8Fe0.2O3¡À¦Ä (BSCF) membrane on oxygen permeation flux was investigated experimentally. Porous barium chromium oxide (BaCrOx) films were deposited by the dip coating method onto BSCF membranes to improve the performance particularly in volatile chromium conditions. We conclude that oxygen permeation in BaCrOx coated BSCF membranes is very high (2.31 mL/min cm2) under an air/helium (20 mL/min) gradient at 950 ¡ãC. This finding is in contrast with the well-known unprotected BSCF membranes.
