Mechanism of adiponectin decrease in obesity induced T2D (OID) remains yet unclear. Here we show that FetA inhibited adiponectin expression in inflamed adipocyte. This inhibition by FetA was through upregulation of Wnt3a. FetA enhancement of Wnt3a suppressed PPARγ and adiponectin. FetA inhibition of adiponectin is entirely dependent on Wnt3a.
