Evidences indicates a high requirement for protein degradation on the molecular mechanisms of the memory process. It has been shown that memory formation and consolidations involves ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS) components. A systems biology approach was applied to establish the major components of the UPS involved on memory formation.
