Effect of surface modification with silica on the structure and activity of Pt/ZSM-22@SiO2 catalysts in hydrodeoxygenation of methyl palmitate

Core@shell structural ZSM-22@SiO2 was synthesized by silica coating. Pt/ZSM-22@SiO2 showed high shape selectivity to monobranched alkanes. Acid sites play an important role in the adsorption of oxygenates. Pt particles with more Pt(1 1 1) facets possessed higher deoxygenation activity. Smaller Pt particles were obtained by lowering the Si/Al ratio of zeolite.
